⚜️We ship the Vegvisir pendant, with a stainless steel chain or leather cord with a lobster clasp closure, for free.
⚜️Metal: bronze. It is pure, lead-free, nickel-free, cadmium-free or other metals, and is safe for everyday use.
⚜️The bronze pendant is gold-plated with a 24-karat gold solution. This coating protects the pendant from oxidation, tarnishing and corrosion. If you do not want gold plating, please send us a message and request a “no plating” finish or submit your request in the “note to seller” box during checkout.
⚜️The vegvísir (Icelandic for “signpost, wayfarer”) is an Icelandic magic wand intended to help the bearer find their way in difficult weather conditions.
A leaf of the manuscript provides an image of the vegvísir, gives its name and, in prose, states that “if this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is unknown”.
Vegvísir comes from two Icelandic words, vegur and vísir. Vegur means “road, path, path” and vísir means “path, guide”. These staves have become intertwined with Norse mythology today, so the symbols appear in many places.
