Ring with the Egyptian “Eye of Horus”. The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. It is similar to the Eye of Ra, which belongs to a different god, Ra, but represents many of the same concepts. The Eye of Horus looks to the left, and the Eye of Ra looks to the right. Horus was the ancient Egyptian sky god who was often represented as a falcon, most likely a golden falcon or perhaps a petrite. His right eye was associated with the sun god Ra. The eye symbol represents the mark around the hawk’s eye, along with the “tear” that is sometimes found below the eye. The left eye sometimes represents the moon.
