⚜️About Huginn Muninn In Norse mythology, Huginn and Muninn (roughly “mind and will”) are a pair of ravens who serve under the god Odin and fly around the world, Midgard, and bring information to the god Odin. Huginn and Muninn are attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources: the Prose Edda and Heimskringla; in the Third Grammatical Treatise, compiled in the 13th century by Óláfr Þórðarson; and in Skalt poetry. The ravens’ names are sometimes anglicized as Hugin and Munin, with the same spelling used in modern Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish. On the surface, the names Huginn and Muninn represent Odin’s sense and mind.

⚜️About Yggdrasil Yggdrasil (from Old Norse Yggdrasill [ˈyɡːˌdrɑselː]), in Norse cosmology, is a huge and central sacred tree. Around it are all the others, including the Nine Worlds. Yggdrasil is attested in the Poetic Edda compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources and in the Prose Edda written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In both sources, Yggdrasil is a huge ash tree located at the center of the universe and considered very sacred. The gods go to Yggdrasil daily to gather for their traditional governmental assemblies, called things. Yggdrasil’s branches extend far into the heavens, and the tree is supported by three roots that extend far into other locations. one in the well Urðarbrunnr in the heavens, one in the spring Hvergelmir, and another in the well Mímisbrunnr. Creatures live within Yggdrasil, including the dragon Níðhöggr, an unnamed eagle, and the deer Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr, and Duraþrór. Scholars generally consider Hoddmímis holt, Mímameiðr, and Læraðr to be other names for the tree. The tree is an example of a sacred tree and grove in Germanic paganism and mythology, and scholars in the field of Germanic literature have long debated its implications.
